Some people like running and some people don’t but I believe the majority of people who dislike it haven’t taken the time to learn the logic behind it and that could be the reason it may be hard or more difficult for the people who dislike it. If running came easy to you and you were instantly fast and you never got tired do you think you would enjoy it more or maybe even do it as a sport, well that’s how it was for me, no i’m not saying I was the best or the fastest girl on the team of course I wasn’t, not at first at least. I started running in the fourth grade and what started it all was P.E. testing. In the fourth grade the class was required to run a mile in under 13 minutes for the women and under 10 for the men. You would have a partner to count your laps and then the next day you would count theirs. We had been running around a field so you needed to run about 11 and a half laps to make a mile. The first time I ran it I had gotten about 8 minutes and 45 seconds which was the fastest girls time in the class, the next day the class all told the teacher I did not run all of the laps, I was asked about it and I was positive that I had but because the class kept teasing me about it and complaining I asked the teacher if I could run it again and he kindly agreed this time three people were counting my laps along with the teacher, and so I ran all 11 and a half laps like the day before and this time I had gotten a better time than before this time I had gotten 7 minutes and 40 seconds and the kids in class couldn’t say I didn’t do it. Because i had gotten the best time in the class it inspired me to keep running so I did. In the sixth grade before my school had a cross country team a lady created a running club and depending how many miles you did you would get prizes and I had won every one. So i joined the team and kept placing and getting metals i started going to state and training really hard not just to prove my classmates that I could do it and that I could do it well, but also because I ended up loving it. It took a lot of hard work to get where I am today it took a lot of practice too. No it wasn’t easy none of it but with the right mind set and training you would probably love it the way I do. I ended up moving and being in the top 5 runners at my new school I’m still trying to work to the top but until then i’m just doing my best and having fun with it.
